About Huan
Huan sounds like Hahn.
Huan Huynh, LMT, is the licensed massage therapist behind Hands by Huan, and the one you see at every session.
My story
There it is.
My grandmother's name was Vui. In our Vietnamese family she was the closest thing we had to a doctor. She practiced manual therapy, acupuncture and massage. We were an immigrant family starting a new life in Florida, and she took care of everyone.
She was slow. She would rest her hands on someone and feel for a while before she pressed. Then she would press one place, the person would make a sound, and she would say something in Vietnamese that meant roughly, there it is. There were a lot of grandchildren. I was the only one who learned it.
My mother worked two jobs for more than twenty years, mostly standing ones. Most evenings, for years, I worked on her, with no training beyond what I had absorbed watching. You stop guessing when you have had your hands on the same body a thousand times.
I studied biology on the path to a doctorate in physical therapy. But I wanted to be hands on, to be present with the pain. I trained at Cortiva Institute, was licensed in Florida in 2020, and began massage therapy in a chiropractic office, where I spent 2 years learning the anatomy under everything my grandmother taught me to feel. In April 2023 I opened my own studio here in Westchase.

How I work
Three things you can expect at every session.
- We find it before we work it. "I spend real time finding things before I work on them. The first stretch of your session may not look like much is happening."
- We may not start where it hurts. "If your neck is being pulled on by something in your upper back, the upper back is where most of the hour might go. I will tell you that is what I am doing and why."
- We tell you when massage is not the answer. "Saying so costs me a booking and it is still the right call."
Not sure where yours starts? Text us where it hurts and we will tell you which session fits.

Booking a male massage therapist
If you have only ever seen women for massage, it makes sense to wonder about this. We talk first about what you need, then you undress only as much as feels right and stay draped. Pressure and position change whenever you say the word, and a friend is welcome to wait in the lobby.
